This building was the home of Sir Joseph Whitworth from 1850 to 1872. It is now part of Chancellor's Hotel, which is run by the University.

Commemorative Plaque, Chancellors Hotel
A blue Plaque look-alike applied by the Hotel Owners to the historic building that is tacked on the side of the Chancellors Hotel.
It says that the building was the home of Sir Joseph Whitworth from 1850 to 1872
