Defib in the street
There are several of these kiosks in the street in Manchester, with a defibrillator and what appears to be an emergency telephone.

Italian Gelato Co
A new ice-cream parlour has recently opened at the top of Portland Street. The shop had previously been occupied by Dainese. The firm which specialises in motorbike clothing moved to new premises in Ardwick Green two years ago.

A Bus in Manchester City Centre
Taken in April 1969, this photo shows a 1968 Daimler Fleetline 33 feet long with Park Royal bodywork leaving Piccadilly on route 100 to Woodhouse Park via Moss Side and Wythenshawe. The vehicle is operated by Manchester City Transport and has 73 seats with a front entrance and centre exit suitable for one-man operation. Its bright livery of red and white was short-lived as MCT was taken over by SELNEC Passenger Transport Executive on the 1st November 1969, and an orange and white livery was subsequently adopted for its vehicles.

British Trolleybuses - Manchester
Portland Street (the east side of Piccadilly Gardens). Piccadilly is still a major transport hub in the centre of Manchester.
The two trolleybuses seen here - one from Manchester and one from Ashton - were being used for a private tour of the complete Manchester and Ashton system resulting in both vehicles visiting parts that they would not normally have reached. The final closure of the trolleybus system was only six months ahead.

Big Specs
The erstwhile Portland Hotel, on Portland Street, is currently trading as the Ibis Styles Hotel. Part of their decor scheme is this giant pair of sunglasses in the lobby.
