Fairfield Street runs to the south of Manchester's Piccadilly station, passing under the main line out of the station here. The Bullocks bus is working the 147 service connecting Piccadilly with the Oxford Road area.

London Road signalbox, Manchester
The signalbox as not seen by passengers using Manchester Piccadilly station. Grafted onto the existing viaduct in 1958/59, the signalbox was then state of the art in outward design and electrical technology. The 'bay window' section is cantilevered out, following the lines of a short turntable originally provided for steam trains using the Altrincham route.
