Venetian Gothic style with groups of arched windows, entrance bays at each end, and pedestals enlivening the roofline. Probably dating from the 1870s. Grade II listed. The ground floor is currently a bar but the upper floors looked empty.

Coronavirus News on Piccadilly
A series of illuminated advertising displays have been installed along Piccadilly. As well as a "rolling" program of adverts, they also show newsflashes. From 20 December 2020, countries around the world began introducing bans on travel from the UK as the first response to the new variant (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55391289 BBC News). Operation Stack https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Stack was implemented to park lorries on the M20 motorway as ferry travel to France for passengers and accompanied freight were stopped entirely. On December 22, France started allowing accompanied freight again, as long as the driver had proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the past 72 hours.

Taking advantage
The buildings at the end of Newton Street are swathed in scaffolding, which I imagine is sign of some much-needed repairs. Someone has seized the opportunity to erect a vast advertising hoarding on this corner and it is currently advertising an imported beer. https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246266 and https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1271450 describe the site
