Dreamscape Garden
The Dreamscape Gardens originally featured on New Cathedral Street Image as part of Dig the City 2013, Manchester’s urban gardening festival, but has now found a new permanent home in Piccadilly Basin as part of the Manchester Garden City scheme. The garden includes lots of balcony-style planting, a small water feature and view of the Rochdale Canal near the Hacienda apartments on Whitworth Street West. It is looked after by the local gardening group – the Northern Quarter Greening Group.

Established in 2011 Northern Quarter Growboxes is an idea realised by a group of residents in Manchester City Centre. Each member of the community group have their personal grow box for growing flowers and their own food. There is also a community growbox from which all may help themselves.

Lena Street leading to Piccadilly Basin
Piccadilly Basin lies on the Rochdale Canal and marks the top of the short stretch through central Manchester that remained navigable (linking the Bridgewater and Ashton-under-Lyne Canals) when the rest of the Rochdale fell into dereliction.
