Police Museum, Newton Street, Manchester
Originally a police station, built 1879, although the main facade was rebuilt later as a Weights and Measures Office. Round the corner, the original Charge Office and windowless cells survive. Fine panelled chimney. Grade II listed.
The museum, which is funded by Greater Manchester Police, was founded in 1981.
