Houghton Regis: Traffic-free cycleway to Leagrave
The route of a traffic-free cycleway is currently indicated by open green circles on the Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 scale maps, and, confusingly, by solid orange circles on the Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale maps. Further confusion is evident in this particular case where the 1:50,000 scale mapping currently on the "Where's the Path" website shows the feature correctly whereas the version currently on the Geograph website shows this route in solid green circles, indicating an on-road cycle route, which it is not and patently evidently never has been! From here it is 1 mile to Houghton Regis town centre looking in the direction of the photograph, and 2¼ miles to Leagrave in the opposite direction behind the photographer.

Houghton Regis: Richmond Drive
Richmond Drive is one of the roads in The Parc development, which created 179 new homes around 2010. As the development was off the existing Sandringham Drive the builders wished to maintain the royal homes theme with the new road names.

Houghton Regis: National Grid transmission lines
The existence of two parallel high voltage overhead National Grid transmission lines is probably one of the reasons why this swathe of thornland has not been developed for residential use yet.
