Paddling pool
Constructed in 1927 on the edge of Ilkley Moor. Chilly weather ensured that there were no paddlers at the time of photography, but it is hard to imagine that today's children would find paddling here an attractive idea whatever the temperature.

Paddling pool, on the edge of Ilkley Moor
If the children have walked across Ilkley Moor on a hot day, they will be glad to splash about in this child-friendly pool. And many an adult has dipped a tired foot in as well...

Bench on the edge of Ilkley Moor
Dedicated to Professor Delia Davin, sinologist, 1944-2016. Could this be the all-time longest memorial bench in Britain? In the background, a building on Crossbeck Close which appears to have grown arbitrarily and organically over the years.

Rombald's Hotel, Ilkley
Rombald's Hotel, above the town on Wells Road, started life as a 'rooming house' in 1835. It is now part of the Best Western family and is seen here on a very cold day.
