Churwell Community Centre - Victoria Street
Built by the overseers of the poor for the township of Churwell in 1862.

Footpath off Back Green, Churwell
The public footpath leads to Dewsbury Road, nowadays via the White Rose Centre. I wonder how many residents of Churwell walk 1km across the fields to the shopping centre, rather than drive 2km on the main road?

Former Methodist church, Back Green, Churwell - 1813 building
This building dating from c.1813 was originally a Wesleyan Methodist chapel replacing an earlier building of 1792. In the 1960s the congregation moved to the former Sunday school next door Image and this building is now a pair of dwellings.

Former Methodist church, Back Green, Churwell - 1907 building
This building dating from 1907, originally a Sunday school to the Wesleyan Methodist chapel next door, was used for worship from the 1960s Image It closed in 2015 and is now in commercial use; the congregation has moved to the community centre on Elland Road.
