Approaching the scene in Image Here footpath 15 80/6/1 veers off to the right, while 15 80/5 continues ahead past Pear Tree House. Both lead to Little Ribston, but to different ends of the village. Neither follow the track on the left.

Former village school, Little Ribston
The former school stands close to the entrance to Ribston Hall and one would assume that it was built by the estate. No date is visible, but the building [except the left end] appears to be 19th century in a Tudor style. The left side of the building is the village hall.
