Closed shops on Tempest Road
A short row of shop units, but four of the six were shuttered even around midday on a weekday, so probably no longer in business. A fish-and-chip shop and one other (unidentified) remained open.

Church of the Holy Spirit, Beeston Hill, Leeds
The church was built in 1903 as part of the then-popular Anglo-Catholic movement in Leeds. The architects were F Bedford and S Kitson; they chose the Gothic revival style which by then was going out of fashion in favour of Arts & Crafts. The short squat tower at the far end was intended to be much higher, but as was often the case the money ran out. It is grade 2 listed (list entry 1255937).
