Tower Works, Leeds
The 57th image for this square and the first to show T R Hardings works of 1864. One chimney is by Shaw and is styled after the Torre Del Communa, Verona and the other chimney is by Wm Bakewell and styled on Giotto's campanile in Florence.

Canal Office, Granary Wharf, Leeds
Canal Office and bridge were built in 1841. Immediately behind are the Italianate towers (chimneys) of the former Tower Works, Globe Street. These are listed and are to be preserved when surrounding land is redeveloped.

Two towers and a little bit
The 'Verona' chimney stands clear, but the 'Giotto' tower is largely hidden by the second boiler house chimney on the left. All three structures are listed, the two more ornate ones at Grade II*.

The Three Towers
Features of Tower Works, Globe road. The works produced pins for wool and flax carding and combing. Left: Tall square brick chimney stack with dentilated eaves, 1919-20. Centre: "Giotto Tower" dust extraction chimney, 1899, restored 1989. Polychrome and moulded brick, Burmantofts tiles. Square in section with octagonal corner shafts, 4 stages defined by moulded brick strings. Blind 'belfry' with 3 panels of gilded tiled panels. Grade II*. Right: "Verona Tower" boiler house chimney 1864, restored 1989. Square plan, bracketed cornice, 3-light arched 'belfry' stage, deep bracketed cornice, octagonal top stage, round-arched arcaded panels with bracketed sills. Grade II*.
