St Peter's church, Belle Isle
A Roman Catholic church in the suburbs of Leeds. St Peter's church was built in 1948 to a design by C.E Fox within what was then Hunslet parish, and took its own parish in 1952. The building was extended and re-ordered by J H Langtry-Langton in 1984. There was also a St Joseph's church, built 1971 also by Langry-Langton, closed and demolished in 2005 after merger of the two parishes (history from the parish's blog site). The four brick pillars that may originally have been intended to support a bell tower and were still present in 2012 Image have since been removed.
