The concrete raft is where F Steadman (Builders) & Sons used to be. It was demolished quite recently and was one of those buildings I was always going to photograph, but never did. Back in the late 70s it looked very dilapidated and I don't think anything was ever done to improve it. It had a sort of wooden shop front, but the windows were only small and high up and all the paintwork was cracked and peeling. I believe Steadman's are now on Boston Road Industrial Estate.

Former Independent Chapel and Sunday School. It's obligatory to smash the windows of old unused buildings. After a time they become an eyesore because of further damage inflicted by the elements and then they get torched, razed to the ground and then we get out of place modern buildings, which folks complain about. Well, it does happen sometimes.
To the right of the building is a plot of land that I think was/is owned by F Steadman & Sons Ltd., Builders. It looks to be out of use since the firm transferred to Townley Close, Boston Rd Industrial Estate.
