Magistrate's Court, High Street, Lincoln
This is the view of the Magistrate's Court from the front entrance of the former St Mark's Railway Station (now home to an Argos outlet) on High Street (the B1262 road). In the distance on the right-hand side of the building is an arch-covered path that brings pedestrians to the main pedestrian entrance to the County Court and Probate Office. Vehicular traffic access for these two buildings - though not seen in this picture - is via Tentercroft Street to the left and behind the buildings. This court was opened by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales in 1990.

High Street Take Away
This railway wheelhouse plaque reads; "built in the 1880s as accommodation for the level crossing keeper for the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. From 1926 it housed the machinery and operator for the mechanically operated crossing gates on the approach to the former Lincoln St. Mark's Station. This use ceased in 1985 when the railway closed." In November 1976 the mechanical system was replaced with the control for electrically-operated lifting barriers. It was converted into a newsagents in 1990 and later a take-away café that changed to ‘Mr Chippy’ around 2013. Present building appears to have replaced earlier structure shown on maps pre OS map of 1887 which was more rectangular in plan.
