Leadenham has long been a source of limestone for building but the coming of the railway brought cheaper brick into the village. Here the bridge over the former railway appears to be substantially of brick with a stone covering.

Opened in 1867 by the Great Northern Railway on the line from Honington to Lincoln, this station closed to passengers in 1965.
