Farm track leading off Somerton to Colby footpath
The tree tops give a clue to the stormy weather. A cold front is passing, the wind is gale force. Nearby in the Blankney area the sandy topsoil is rising in an orange cloud above the fields. See Image], Image] and Image Competitors en route to a horse competition at Norton Disney have been delayed in their high-sided horse boxes on the motorways by the wind. But for the moment the sun is shining. An hour later a premature darkness had fallen and the rain was lashing down.
