Plaque by the sculpture
This is in front of Image It reads "Jubilee Gardens In celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee 2012 This carving was fashioned from one solid piece of oak and tells the story of Wellingore and the life of its residents over the centuries up to the present day. Our thanks are due to the Wellingore Woodpeckers and other local woodcarvers who worked for over 18 months to complete it. We are especially grateful to the project leader, Helen Link of artsNK, whose creativity inspired and developed the project's theme and whose dedication guaranteed its success. Wellingore Parish Council This is just one of many exciting projects across North Kesteven funded by the District Council and Arts Council England. This is a grade II listed structure, described with some justification in the listing as "eroded" - https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1061856 In that curious way that Bureaucracy has, it is also and separately a Scheduled ancient monument, in which capacity it earns a far more elaborate official description: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1009214
