Tornado F3 ZE 760 at RAF Coningsby
This Tornado first flew in March 1988 and was delivered to 5 (Army Co-operation) Squadron. Two years later it was in service with 228 OCU. After suffering a wheels-up landing and a further two years in the hangar under repair she returned to service briefly with 3 Squadron at RAF Leuchars she was transferred to 36 Stormo, the Italian Air Force where she served until being retired in February 2003. She was formerly presented to the station on 22nd July 2005 by the Air Commodore Defence Operations.

FOR 2 Phantom XT 891
XT 891 was the first Phantom to enter service with the Royal Air Force in July 1968 and one of the last to be retired. Issued to 228 OCU the following month. At the end of October 1990 it was flown to RAF Wattisham to serve with 74 Squadron. The airframe has 4271 hours, and was operationally flown for the last time on December 21st 1991. It was landed at Coningsby and became the gate guardian on being formally presented to the Station by AOC 11 Group Air Vice Marshall J. S. Allison, CBE on 8th July 1992. The White Swan
Long abandoned pub on the corner of Old Boston Road and Dogdyke Road in Coningsby. Developers have built houses in the former car-park and there are plans to convert the pub to two more homes
