Arboretum Lion
Presented in 1872 by Alderman F.J.Clarke, four times Mayor of Lincoln between 1878 and 1885, he lived at Bracebridge Hall and made his fortune from pharmaceuticals. It has been the subject of practical jokes and pranks several times in the last 130 years such as being painted with stripes. We always thought it was Aslan when we were children !
