John Dawber Garden, Lincoln
This walled garden is situated in the north-west corner of the grounds of the former Lawns Hospital. The principal objective of the John Dawber charity is to make monetary awards to appropriate inhabitants of Lincoln and of the Parish of Bracebridge "as the Mayor, Alderman and citizens of Lincoln may from time to time direct." It seems safe to assume therefore that this garden was paid for from this trust's funds, perhaps for the benefit of patients of the former mental hospital adjacent to it? Willis Close and Occupation Road lie beyond the garden's brick-built boundary wall.
