Psalter farm at Skendleby Psalter
Psalter Farmhouse at the top is a mid 18th century Grade II Listed farmhouse. The range of buildings on the left comprise a Grade II Listed timber framed barn of the same date but re-faced and extended in the 19th century. In the early Middle Ages psalters were amongst the most popular types of illuminated manuscripts mostly containing psalms.

Footpath from Well and Fordington Wood. When I spotted this intriguing valley on an aerial shot (see: Image), I knew I had to go there.

Skendleby Psalter
Almost too much information to take in, but this is all there is to Skendleby Psalter - the sign ahead announces the beginning of Claxby St.Andrew. When I spotted this enchanting valley on an aerial shot (see: Image), I knew I had to go there. It is, I believe, a glacial valley, one of many such steep-sided cuts through the Wolds countryside.

Psalter Road towards the village of Claxby St.Andrew
The deadline for cutting the hedges is nigh, and the tractor and fail is at work behind the hedge, hence the bits on the road. Avoid by bike! In the village a man was walking the road with a power blower (instead of a broom), clearing up after himself.
