Burton spring
One of two springs in Burton, this one near the church. Fresh water on the spring line of the Lincoln cliff and the nearby ancient Middle Street made this a prime settlement location and a Roman Villa of c200AD has been found nearby. The Spring head is dated 1860 .... presumably a restoration as it looks mid 18th century.
