The recently shut Eastman Pebroc vitamin-E plant
This factory which formed an important employer in Llangefni for over 40 years closed earlier this year. The Eastman Company is an international company which was founded in 1920 and has its headquarters in Kingsport, Tenn, U.S.A and manufactures chemicals, fibres and plastics. The Llangefni plant manufactured chemicals and a new plant was constructed on an existing operating chemicals site and included reactors, centrifuge, dryer hydrogenation, filtration and other ancillary equipment. The Peboc Eastman plant at Llangefni closed in 2008 and operations transferred to U.S.A.
