The aptly named Pen-yr-allt cottage viewed across rough grazing
Pen-yr-allt means "top of the hill". Beyond the cottage the road drops down steeply towards the hamlet of Pengorffwysfa.

The southern slopes of Mynydd Eilian
Caernarfonshire folk have always been amused by the Anglesey custom of designating any minor undulation as a "mynydd" (=mountain). But though small of stature and a dawdle to climb, Mynydd Eilian is a place with a charm all of its own and fantastic coastal views.
