Eglwys y Mair, Seren y Môr a Santes Wenfrewi
The Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea and St Winefride on Bull Bay Road at Amlwch, was built in the 1930s using design elements embodying a nautical theme. The main body of the church is a high domed stressed concrete construction which has advanced ribs along its length, as the upturned hull of a boat. This is on a roughcast rendered plinth with portholes to each 'ribbed' bay. It is a Grade II listed building (Cadw ref: 24455 https://cadwpublic-api.azurewebsites.net/reports/listedbuilding/FullReport?lang=&id=24455 ).

Our Lady, Star of the Sea, Amlwch
"A piece of Italian architectural daring of the 1930s" says the Gwynedd & Môn Pevsner, and the avant garde church still astonishes today. This tower is backed by vaulted ribs, redolent of an upturned boat.
