A typical Mynydd Mechell landscape
The ancient Mona Complex rocks outcrop over large areas of this district forming rocky knolls which are separated by bogland and lakes. The improved land is in pasture and Mynydd Mechell has since Tudor times been an important cattle rearing district.

Approaching Jerusalem from the north
The original Jerusalem Calvinist chapel at Mynydd Mechell was built in 1817. That chapel was extended in 1827 and again in 1852. Later the present chapel and chapel house were built.
