Inspired by the Giant Causeway -the roof of Capel Ebenezer, Llanfechell
The roof of this Congregational Chapel, known colloquially as Capal Eban, is roofed with unusually shaped hexagonal slates. Unfortunately, the roof is bad condition and the danger of falling slates has led to the closure of the path round the chapel.

The grave of Brig-Gen Owen Thomas
Owen Thomas, farmer, businessmen, soldier and Labour MP was buried here in March 1923. During WWI he commanded Lloyd George's Welsh Army. Photos of the funeral can be seen on the following link.

Capel Ebenezer and chapel house, Llanfechell
The Independent/Congregational Ebenezer chapel was founded in 1805 with the present chapel being built in 1862. The cost of building the chapel was bourne by the Lewis brothers, who like others in Anglesey, had made their money through speculative building in Liverpool. The chapel was the first in the county to have a harmonium, then regarded by many Nonconformists as the devil's own instrument. Brig-Gen Owen Thomas was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Ebenezer and he was buried there in 1923.
