Chadwicks Newsagents, Boston House, Boston Street, Holyhead
Some old photographs show these premises to have once been Williams and Robert's Chemist and Druggist Shop … but there is no reference to or indication of the Boston House signs … I love a mystery!
This Newsagents was one of 'my direct' accounts when I worked as a salesman for Geo. Bassett & Co Ltd, the Liquorice Allsorts company in the mid 1970's … I can't remember if it was Chadwicks in those days.
I can't recall any other accounts in Holyhead … possibly the Empire Cinema …
but do remember others on Anglesey in Amlwch, Llangefni, Beaumaris and Menai.
I also remember the Shop Owners on Anglesey as generally being more friendly
and welcoming than those in some other parts of North Wales.
