The Ruins of Cae-Gwen-Owen, Llangadwaladr.
The Isle of Anglesey once had hundreds perhaps thousands of these smallholdings, many called 'tyddyn' the equivalent to the Scottish 'croft,' today most are abandoned, classed as uneconomical to farm.

The porch and south chapel of Eglwys St Cadwaladr
The ornate south chapel is a fairly recent addition to the church. It was built to celebrate the restoration of the monarchy in 1661 and incorporated all the features most hated by the iconoclastic Cromwellians. The building was paid for by monies left in the will of Colonel Hugh Owen of Bodowen, a colonel in the Royalist army who died in 1659.

St Cadwaladr's Church, Llangadwaladr
A church, dedicated to St. Cadwaladr, stands on the site of one built in the 7th century, and was formerly a sanctuary. Minor restorations were carried out in 1840. Following the establishment of Llangadwaladr as a parish in 1877, a major restoration was undertaken by William Spaull in 1883: walls and roof rebuilt, an apse and vestry added, the west gallery removed, the floor partly raised and the seating improved.

St Cuthbert's church, Llangadwaladr
All previous photos of this church call it "St Cadwaladr's church". However the signs, both on the main road (the A4080) and at the church itself, refer to it as "St Cuthbert's". I would be happy to amend this description in the light of better information - but in the context of the site I think it necessary to explain the two different names.
