The old Friars School building
This was the third building occupied by the school which was established in 1557. It was built in 1900 at a cost of a little over £11,000. In 1979, this endowed boys grammar school became a mixed comprehensive school. The bulk of the school moved on to a new site, with the sixth form remaining in the old until 1999 when the comprehensive school of the 1970s was replaced by a new £5.4 million pound building. The old Friars building was than taken over by Coleg Menai FE College which is sited across the road. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friars_School,_Bangor
