Y Felinheli Marina
This once redundant slate exporting dock has been converted into a marina. This is view towards the dock gate. The buildings are all part of the marina complex and include a hotel (right), apartments (centre) and houses (left). The following link shows the dock in the 'good old days' http://www.llechicymru.info/MainGallery/pages/L0000266.english.htm

The War Memorial and Disused Railway Station
The Felinheli war memorial takes a very unusual form - that of a clock. I know of no other in the region. The old railway station [right], a particularly large and ornate building, became redundant with the closure of the railway in the mid-1960s. It has now been converted into small workshops.

Y Felinheli: war memorial clock
The war memorial is a large clock tower on the corner of the road leading up to the old station. The building behind is some kind of village or church hall.

The lock gates at Felinheli Dock

Entrance locks at Port Dinorwic
The locked entrance to the docks dates from the remodelling in 1897-1902 and removed grounding of boats due to tidal conditions. The existing docks were inadequate for the growth in the slate production from the Llanberis slate quarries. The docks were designed for the maximum size of boat in the slate trade of 680 tons but more generally the boats were 100-350 tons.
