Plas Tirion, Llanrug
One of the few manor houses in the Caernarfon area to have remained as a family home. Extensively remodelled in the 19th century by Sir Hugh Rowlands KSC VC, the son of the house, it acquired a long drive, a lodge and a home farm.

The rear of Plas Tirion Hall from the Pencefn road
Plas Tirion once the home of General Sir Hugh Rowlands who won the Victoria Cross in the Crimea on 5 Nov 1854.On his return to Caernarfon, he was met at the station by a big crowd of quarrymen and carried home shoulder high to Plas Tirion.
