Llys Alun
These two substantial semis were built on a tract of land belonging to the Caernarfon centred Coed Alun Estate (now known as Coed Helen) which was surrounded on all sides by Faenol land. The Quarrymen's Union lodge - Y Gynghorfa - was built in the field next to them, again on Coed Alun land.

Groeslon Racca Crossroads
Here the Caernarfon to Deiniolen road crosses the busy A 4244. The Deiniolen road is on the right of the photo. The building is a 'cooling' plant for electricity transported from the Dinorwig HEP station.

Groeslon Cooling Station
The 400kV lines from the Dinorwig Hydro scheme, run underground for part of their route, as they are in the National Park. These stations are placed at intervals in order to deal with the heat generated by the supply.
