Three Herrings for sale
This former inn, once the home of the Nanhoron Arms Hotel, is currently on the market. Its sign, temporarily hidden by the estate agents' board, is that of three herrings. The same three herrings are found on the town's coat of arms. Image

Houses on Stryd y Plas, Nefyn
A row of terraced houses, including the tiny Ty Ni - surely a rival for Quay House, Conway, reputed to be the smallest house in Great Britain http://www.thesmallesthouse.co.uk/

House for slim residents?
Ty Ni ['Our House'] in Stryd y Plas must rival the famous dwelling by the quayside in Conwy as the smallest house in Wales. One wonders if the name is also intended to be a play on words as in English it could well be 'Tiny'.

St Mary's Well, Nefyn
The inscription states that the well was rebuilt in 1868 by the corporation. For a very long time this was the main source of fresh water in the town. It stands [not surprisingly] at the side of Stryd y Ffynnon, although it is interesting to see that on old OS 6" maps all street names in Nefyn were Anglicised, this being shown as 'Well Street'. Thank goodness for the revival of the Welsh language.

The Three Herrings, Nefyn
A house, presumably converted from a tavern, on the High Street opposite the village well. Nefyn herring became renowned throughout Wales, and the port became the principal herring port of the north.

St Mary's Well, Nefyn
An ornate stone superstructure to the ancient town well, built in 1868 by the Corporation of Nefyn, according to the inscription, which also records Lord Newborough as mayor and presumably promoter of this unusual building.
