Highgate, Llanystumdwy
The house is in a row on the NE side of the main street, E of the bridge. It became the childhood home of David Lloyd George in 1864 when, following the death of his father, he was brought to his mother's home village to live with his uncle, Richard Lloyd, shoe manufacturer, until he left home in 1880. The painted wooden trade sign above the door is for Richard Lloyd. To the left of the house is the cobbler's workshop. The Grade II* listed house has been recreated to appear as it was in the late 19th Century.
