Porthmadog station (mainline)
In addition to the usual two-carriage diesel multiple units, Porthmadog mainline station is served every Mon-Fri during summer by a pair of West Coast Railways steam trains running from Machynlleth to Pwllheli and back.
Update: This service has been abandoned following the introduction in 2011 of a new in-cab signalling system on the line with which the steam locomotives were incompatible.
