Y Gatws
**Gatws, or Gate Lodge, stands at the original entrance to Morfa Lodge, and was probably built in the 2nd quarter of the C19. It is shown on the 1842 Tithe map. Morfa Lodge was built by the landowner William Madocks (1773-1828), but its date is uncertain as it could belong to the 1st or 3rd decade of the C19. The drive (known as Morfa Lodge) on which Gatws stands is no longer directly linked to the house formerly known as Morfa Lodge (now Gelli Faia). **Information courtesy British Listed Buildings
