Nannau. Seat of the Lords of Nanney
At 700 ft possibly the highest family seat in the British Isles. The Nanneys were descendants of the third royal tribe of Wales. More recently held by descendants through marriage the Vaughan family who still farm the estate. The first house was built c1200 and possibly up to five houses have stood on this site, there is also a mythical connection with Owain Glyndwr.

Nannau Hall
A Georgian style house dating from 1795. An earlier house on the site was destroyed by fire in 1404 during the Owain Glyndŵr uprising and another is thought to have been demolished during the Civil War.

Nannau
Nannau is an historic estate centred upon the large house of Nannau itself; also in view is Nannau Home Farm. The view is from a small crag high on the slope of the hill, Foel Offrwm which lies to the east.
