Shunting passenger trains
The Fairbourne Railway has resumed services following the coronavirus (covid-19) restrictions. In doing so, it alternates the use of two trains with one carrying passengers and the other undergoing cleaning and disinfection. The way it worked was that the passenger train would head into the platform on the left and drop the passengers off, then pull back forward onto the running line. The train stabled in the right hand siding would then pull behind the other train onto the running line and reverse into the platform. The train coming out of service is now reversing into the siding for cleaning.
