Footpath in the woods below Glyn-bach
This is a perfectly pleasant public footpath, rendered unpleasant by the sheer number of signs demanding that the footpath be adhered to and dogs kept on leads - a self-defeating tactic that simply encourages people to react by wondering what you've got to hide that justifies all that expense and aggravation and no doubt in some cases causes them to go looking or to venture off the path just out of sheer annoyance. Can't say I blame them. I didn't have time...

Autumnal oak above Pont Rhyd-Lydan
By this time of year, the sun is getting low by twenty past three, and the light catches the autumn colours of this tree by the lane down to Pont Rhyd-Lydan nicely.

Llangelynnin New Church
Llangelynnin Old Church Image dedicated to St Celynnin is located in Image It was used regularly until 1840, when it closed following depopulation of the area. A new church was consequently built, carrying the same name, nearer the centres of population. The new church was designed by Thomas Jones of Chester in a much grander, lofty late Georgian style. Unusually, the tower has a square lower storey surmounted by an octagonal embattled upper stage. It is Grade II listed http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/wa-3642-llangelynin-new-church-henryd This new church also eventually closed (in the 1980s), but the font from the church is now displayed by the altar in Llangelynnin old church. It is now the studio of David Chapman, a sculptor and artist, who found "Ancient Arts" in 1995 http://www.ancient-arts.org/aboutus.html Although the building is no longer a church and is not open to the public, the graveyard is still open for visitors.
