Tour of Britain 2014
Toward the end of Stage 2, this is the leading group flashing past the junction of Station Road and York Road.
I am informed that the riders in view are 66 Partridge, 172 McNally, 95 Bibby, 103 Lastras and 44 Hansen (not necessarily in order). Also seen is the camera motorcycle, and it is amusing to note that I appeared on TV coverage with camera and cow-bell in hand.

Robertson Geo
Originally a garage - Braids.
It was also the site of manufacturing curling-stones for a while before they relocated to the old boatbuilding shed on Deganwy Quay.
It was at one time a 'skating' rink formerly, but a roller -skating rink. A Deganwy resident, Mary Quinn, became the World Champion Skater in 1933.

New apartments
The lower storey of the new apartments is now taking shape at the back of the Deganwy Castle Hotel - now renamed The Moorings, a name which is quite ridiculous and difficult to utter in this context.

Castle Hotel vs. The Moorings 2
Utilitarian, dilapidated accommodation on two floors above extended kitchen space was built in 1919 on the west side of the Deganwy Castle Hotel, diagonally behind the prominent and famous tower. This is being demolished in favour of the apartments development at the side of the main, listed structure which is to be retained as a 'boutique' hotel. The overgrown boundary is against the railway, and this view is taken from the iron footbridge which is just seen.

Deganwy Castle Apartments
Most of the new apartments are completed and occupied after the demolition and rebuilding of the 1919 accommodation wing of the Deganwy Castle Hotel. The tower is part of the listed structure, and has been repaired sensitively. See
Image for a similar view of the old structure.

Castle Hotel vs. The Moorings 1
After a couple of years of disuse and planning, the old Deganwy Castle Hotel is at last being re-born as The Moorings. This is a mixed-use development incorporating new apartments to the west, and retention of the older, listed structure on the south and east sides as a 'boutique' hotel. Only modern and inappropriate extensions are being demolished in this picture, but radical steps are being taken in the second of this series

A 17th Century listed building that was originally an old farmhouse with oak beams has now become a hotel, overlooking the Conwy estuary at Deganwy.
There are view over to Snowdonia and Conwy Castle.
