At end of day Lancashire had reached 425 - 2 after 96 overs, with Ashwell Prince on 154 not out and Alviro Petersen on 205 not out. Their stand had reached 321 runs off 62.3 overs. Their partnership was eventually 501 which is the fourth highest 3rd wicket partnership in First Class cricket.
