Lower Castle Street
The right hand side of the street is occupied by the White Lion Royal Hotel. The building facing the camera on the other side of the High Street is the Town Hall. The top of the town hall clock can be seen over the roofs on the right. The building in the past has housed the Assize and magistrate courts as well as the police station. Bala no longer has a court, and the phrase "appearing beneath the clock" no longer has the same meaning for the townsfolk. The police station has also been transferred to the western outskirts of the town.
