Afon Elwy from Pont Elwy
The old bridge is just visible. The low water level is indicative of the recent dry and hot summer of 2025. This area has been known to suffer severe floods (2012 & 2020).

Bont yr Elwy
Built 1927. The A544 road above leads to Llansannan. The river level is extremely low given the absence of rain for some weeks. The area has however suffered severe flooding in the past (2012 &2020)

This is the upstream side, so the refuges on the bridge piers have pointed cutwaters, for times of flood.
