Dated 1936.
Closed in the 1970's. Since 2009 there appears to have been little deterioration in the external fabric. See Image]

Former public toilets, Corwen
The old public toilets in Green Lane built in 1936 and closed in the 1970's. A new public toilet block was built in the Car Park in the 1970's.

A bridge too far
Across the road is the continuation of the old track to the former Ruthin and Barmouth lines. The track was lifted after the closure of the line in 1964.
The original Corwen station is beyond and to the left of the parapet.

War Memorial gates in Corwen
The gates were originally erected as memorial to the town's fallen of World War I, with subsequent panels added to commemorate those who dies in WWII and subsequent conflicts. They were Grade II listed https://cadwpublic-api.azurewebsites.net/reports/listedbuilding/FullReport?lang=en&id=15536 & https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300015536-war-memorial-gates-corwen in 1995, with a note which says "An unusual town war memorial, and a good example of decorative cast iron work"

Corwen's new statue of Owain Glyndwr
The life-size bronze of Wales' 15th Century hero on his battle horse is set on 8 tons of solid Welsh granite.
This was installed on September 13th, 2007 and formally dedicated on November 9th by Sir Roger Jones.

All or nothing - Owain Glyndwr statue, Corwen
Open rebellion against the new usurper English monarch King Henry IV committed Owain to almost constant warfare and having already lost everything he now had nothing to lose but his life, his family, his friends and allies and bring the enmity of the English rulers down on Wales.
