The building now houses Corwen's Library and One Stop Shop. There is a green plaque to the left of the door which states that the novelist John Cowper Powys lived here between 1935 and 1955 and wrote two novels while living in Corwen. The keystone above the door notes that the building dates from the year of Queen Victoria's Jubilee, 1887.

Corwen
The station sign is a reminder of Corwen's railway, a through route from Ruabon to Barmouth, which closed in 1964. This, however, is not the original station site which was at the west end of the village. The Llangollen Railway is planning to restore trains to Corwen, hopefully by late 2014.
