Trelawnyd village hall
Trelawnyd village hall. The inscription commemorating the donor uses the name 'Newmarket' for the village - given around 1700 by a local (and presumably English-speaking!) entrepreneur who had great plans for developing the village. It returned to its Welsh name only in 1954.
