Vale Road, Rhyl
After coming down from the Vale Road Bridge over the railway, the A525 heads south east away from the town centre. The Little Theatre, built on the site of a former primary school in 1963, can be seen on the left; it was the first purpose built theatre for children in the UK.

Rhyl Station
A train heading down the coast departs from Rhyl towards Abergele and Colwyn Bay. Rhyl's station was provided with broad platforms to accommodate the vast holiday crowds coming to this resort, typically from the industrial towns of north west England; there are fewer holidaymakers these days, the crowds having long since decamped to the warmer attractions of the Mediterranean. Nevertheless, Rhyl is still one of the most important stops on the North Wales coast line.

Up express entering Rhyl
View westward, towards Llandudno Junction, Bangor and Holyhead. A Summer Saturday Llanfairfechan - Stoke-on-Trent express passes beside the large Rhyl No. 2 Box as it approaches the Up platform on the Up Slow line (there were no platforms for the Fast lines in the centre), headed by BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 No. 75010. (Note the bell on the signalbox to warn staff and the extra look-out windows).
