Red phonebox and a wall clock, Wrexham
Dated 4 June 1965, the small plaque on the wall between two windows records that the clock was given to the town by Rogers & Jackson Ltd to commemorate 150 years trading in Wrexham and the long association of the Owen family with the town. The heading on the plaque is ROGERS AND JACKSON LTD. A MEMBER OF THE OWEN ORGANISATION. The Wrexham History website records that Rogers & Jackson Limited were proud to be called the oldest member of the Owen Organisation. The business began in 1815 in a small shop in Charles Street, Wrexham, purchased by William Overton, a grocer and ironmonger. From this small beginning, the business expanded and diversified greatly, as described in detail here. https://www.wrexham-history.com/history-rogers-jackson-limited-wrexham/
